Enigma Armor — Which Base to Use

In short

Enigma is a 3-socket body armor runeword that grants teleport-style mobility. Most characters including Paladin start with Mage Plate (low strength). Move to Archon Plate later if you want more defense and can afford strength.

Why Mage Plate first

Enigma only needs 3 sockets. Mage Plate maxes at 3, so it fits cleanly. Archon is tankier but heavy on strength. Starter answer is almost always Mage Plate.

How to make it

  1. 1.

Get a Mage Plate with 3 sockets (or Larzuk a 0-socket one).

  2. 2.

Socket runes in order: Jah → Ith → Ber.

  3. 3.

Fix strength if the item is red.

  4. 4.

Later remake in Archon if you want more defense (unsocketing destroys the old runes).

Best armor for paladin Enigma?
Start Mage Plate. Move to Archon when strength and defense allow.
