Insight Polearm — Start in Nightmare, Upgrade in Hell
In short
Insight needs a 4-socket polearm (or staff). First, grab any white polearm in Nightmare and get four sockets. For merc damage later, farm ethereal Threshers or Cryptic Axes in Hell. Don't plan an elite Thresher Insight in Normal.
Starter route (Meditation first)
- 1.
In Nightmare, run dense areas (cows, jungle, tombs…).
- 2.
Loot any white polearm — Bill, Partizan, etc. are fine. Damage can be low.
- 3.
Get four sockets via Larzuk or the cube recipe (not on Superior whites).
- 4.
Socket Ral + Tir + Tal + Sol.
Goal here is Meditation aura, not a pretty base.
Upgrade (merc damage)
After aura is up, farm Hell for ethereal polearms.
• Thresher — fast, popular
• Cryptic Axe — more damage
• Giant Thresher / Colossus Voulge — higher end
Hell cows and high-level zones work. Socket to 4 with cube or Larzuk. Check level and strength requirements for your merc.
Easy to mix up
- – Don't mix this up with Spirit sword (Normal cows). Insight starts in NM.
- – Don't only wait for eth Thresher for your first Insight.
- – Cube socketing fails on Superior whites.
